The evaluation results of the First Essay and Short Video Contest of China Petrochemical Industry for Workplace Safety Awareness Month were recently announced. Through the online voting and expert evaluation, Safety around You and Me by Lu Yuanlin and Liu Li from Elkem Xinghuo Silicones won the first prize in the short video category.

In June 2020, the competition themed “Eliminate Accidents and Hazards, Ensure Workplace Safety” was jointly launched by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF), the Chemical Industry Press, China Chemical Industry News and China National Chemical Information Center.

The short video is created from a novel perspective, with the clear main line of “finding hidden dangers, conducting analyses and countermeasures and eliminating such dangers.” Full in content, it focuses on check methods, solutions, practical results and experience sharing regarding hidden dangers at the production line, with strong educational guidance. Through video promotion, a learning and exchange platform for workplace safety technologies and managerial experiences has been built to create a strong cultural atmosphere in which all employees pay attention to workplace safety and participate in fostering a safety awareness. The work will be displayed on the public service platform for workplace safety education of the chemical industry and on China Petroleum and Chemical Network.
